In August 2002, MercaSID acquired operating control of Manantiales Crystal, with the goal of establishing a new company named Agua Crystal, S.A.

The strategic alliance between MercaSID and Manantiales Crystal is aimed at strengthening the expansion plans and consolidating the leadership position of Agua Crystal in the national market, the product of 35 years of experience in offering Dominican families a first rate product.

Manantiales Crystal provided the assets and technology, and MercaSID provided the financial resources for working capital and investments, as well as additional management capabilities, to promote growth at a national level and expansion to regional markets, strengthening the leadership of the brand names and products in the water market.
