TWO YEARS AGO, MERCASID STARTED PLAYING WITH THE IDEA OF CREATING A GASTRONOMICAL BOOK.

El Manicero Oil honored Dominican gastronomy when they, during a gala celebration, launched the book "''El arte de cocinar en casa'' (The art of home cooking), which brings together 100 of the best culinary recipes created by professionals Dora Bisonó de Valera, Eugenia Rojo, Ligia de Bornia, Adria de Mañon, Josefina Baquero, Luigi Puello, Adria de Lomba, Xilia Hernández y Mayre Sella.
The book features culinary specialties from each of the women who for decades have been teaching cooking through the different types of media -written, radio or televised- , to an audience who loves good food and who follows them from the comfort of their home or office.
The Book
José Llano García, Marketing Manager of MercaSID, informed that two years ago they came up with then ideas of "procreating" a gastronomy text to contribute to the enrichment of Dominican cooking. A process of "beautification" of dishes, an improvement and taking of photographs ended with the publication of the best recompilation of recipes from these distinguished women, who now have the opportunity to benefit the country with their cooking tips. The book is the best contribution as a means to gift their consumer with easy to prepare recipes using ingredients they can find in any supermarket, he expressed.

Red orquids, placed in big pitchers with plenty of water, decorated the tables of Chez Asian Bistro restaurant, which accommodated the MercasSID guests. José Llano García made a sketch of each of the main characters in the book, distinguishing the professional dynamic that has made these ladies fill the space they enjoy today within the society that recognizes them.
"''El arte de cocinar en casa'' (The art of home cooking) is available in the main supermarkets of Santo Domingo and the public may purchase it through a promotion of El Manicero oil.
Waiters dressed in white with red hats served the guest the menu created to celebrate the event that served as the framework for the guests to try several of the dishes created by the professionals of the culinary arts.
