MercaSID adquiere 77% acciones Manantiales Crystal (MercaSID acquires 77% of shares of Manantiales Cristal)

The MercaSID company, of the Bonetti Group, acquired 77 percent of the stocks in Manantiales Cristal, with the objective of creating a new company which shall be known as Agua Cristal, S.A. The remaining 23% of the stocks shall be controlled by Manantiales Cristal, belonging the Armenteros Group and other minority partners. It was informed that the strategic alliance was aimed at strengthening the plans for expansion and to solidify the leadership position of Agua Cristal in the national market.

The new company is called Agua Cristal, S.A. and to it Manantiales Cristal will bestow its assets and technology; and MercaSID shall provide the financial resources for working capital and investments as well as additional management skills to promote their growth on a national level, and expansion to regional markets.

This alliance will become effective as of September 1st, when part of the process of sales, purchases, management informational systems and the administration will become the responsibility of MercaSID, S.A., with the objective of achieving operational, commercial and financial synergies and thus reduce production and administrative costs. This alliance shall also bring out the improvement of the distribution systems and allow for an expansion at the national level, thus strengthening the leadership of the brand names and products in the waters market, the result of 35 years of experience in offering a first rate product to Dominican families.

This alliance agreement was formalized in the presence of Enrique Armenteros, Francisco Cupello and Mónica Armenteros de Torrón, executives of Manantiales Cristal, S.A. and of José Miguel Bonetti for MercaSID, where both parts signed the contract agreements.
